His healing and strength are credited to his strong faith in God and the support of his loving wife and family. This support enabled Gainer to become a college graduate, entrepreneur and real estate investor. He was also presented with the Community Unsung Hero award by the Bank of America, and was declared Father of the Year three years in a row by Hillsborough County Head Start. For the past 16 years, loving father and husband, Gainer (affectionately called ‘Mr. Tallie’ by many), has humbly served as a youth pastor, educator, empowerment coach, and mentor. He often says, when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. There are many students, and Tallie Gainer is empowered to teach and ready to serve. His message is simple: "Discover your Pupose, Exercise your Power, and Fulfill your Potential!"
